Your String table differs from the Server's

I get the error "your string table differs from the server's" upon entering multiplayer games, I get into the lobbies but while loading I get about a quarter of the way, and it automatically disconnects me and gives me that message.

I need some help don't have any other recognized problems yet. Someone who knows something throw a solution at me please, all helpful replies are well appreciated, thanks.

Your game isn't the same version or the server(s) are running custom content (maps) that you don't have. (L4D doesn't support in-game downloading (yet).)
In Steam you can Force a check of Local Content (right click, properties, Local Files, Verify integrity of game cache.)
I'd also check for updates to the Steam client.

Ok well i'm going to reinstall, since I already uninstalled thinking that would be the solution, and then if the problem presists, then I will follow the directions you have given me.
