Thread: BT Home Hub resets if I start Left 4 Dead

Basically the title explains it all. Starting steam I have no problems. Connecting to any other game I have no problems. Starting left 4 dead on the pc makes my BT Home Hub decide that it doesn't want to be a nice little hub anymore and it resets itself, disconnecting anyone in my house that's using the internet. I'm not sure how long this has been going on but I think it's a recent thing.

At first I thought it was a firewall thing so I opened some ports and disabled one of the 2 I was using (Windows and McAfee). This did nothing.Then I thought that it was something to do with typing the command net_start for whenever I wanted to do a lan with hamachi or something but it wasn't that either.

I attached a dxdiag if anyone wants to take a look and see if there's something there that'll help fix problem.

*EDIT* Forgot to mention that I am plugged into the hub using an ethernet cable. Dunno if this would matter but just thought I'd put it in

If the hub is resetting itself it's not the game... or an error related to the game but more likely a flaw with the hub. The first thing to do when troubleshooting would be to swap the hub out for another and see if the problem persists. There has been a few BT Router errors posted on here most related to bad hardware or an over zealous firewall inside of the router. I'd recommend looking for a firmware update for the hub or getting a new one if you can, and if you can not purchase a new hub post the exact model number of it up here I may be able to dig something up on it.
