Thread: Public lobby and no one joins

Ever since the update I've had problems getting traffic into my local host.


I'm currently on fios and have a AMAZING connection.

I run a quad core amd with 4870 video card. So I have plenty of FIBER and hardware to back up a locally hosted server.

But it seems ever since this update getting public traffic is next to impossible. I don't believe I've changed any settings or anything has gone wrong. I am just curious as to why I am having this problem. Versus > play with friends > create lobby > versus > server type local host > create lobby> change permissions to public lobby. I do this with two or three other friends in there NOT preselected team and still we wait for a few minutes and NO ON Joins. . previous to this I couldnt beat off the traffic with a stick, I had people joining within two or three seconds of me opening it up.


Suggestions?

This happened to me a LOT too, i just restart L4D and it usually works.. or I tell my friend to create the lobby, and that usually works too.

However, I mostly experienced this BEFORE the patch.. after the patch it seems to have been fixed for the most part.
