    I never liked how when you get smoked or pounced on your powerless, until a felllow survivor comes to your rescue. I think you should be able to at least try and break free, or get them off you. Instead of just sitting there getting ripped to shreds while ur retarded team-mates do nothing.
    This isn't a weapon but more of a defense. When a Hunter pounces on you, (shake your LS stick (Xbox) Or hit 2 buttons on your keyboard) and have a chance to knock them off. If you fail to do so then they get to stay on you and keep ripping you to shreds
    That function is already in the game if you melee a hunter mid air while hes trying to pounce you he just gets knocked back and u kill him. Its also easy to dodge hunters in most areas , Just hold either left or right strafe and jump.

    If you do actualy get pounced though its fine. Most humans cant even remove a dog that has pounced them let alone a full sized human infected zombie with claws that just rugby tackled them to the ground.

    It would be great with a simplifired Flametrower like the Grenade, something that looks like it has been created on the run, so how about a Flametrower with limited range, when began fireing you can't stop before it is empty, low liter capacity, explodes if another player shoots the tank and so on, it could work...

    While I'll quickly admit is sucks to sit there and die, that's the point of the current system, to promote teamwork as Target has pointed out. If there was even a chance to break free with some silly combo or stick/mouse waggle, then there'd be no incentive at all to stick together...and in VS, the already uphill battle for the infected would almost be not worthwhile, since your once in a while sweet grab could be countered by a simple set of button presses. The game would then devolve into four 1 man teams and result in a mediocre shooter at best. The reliance on your teammates, the need to stick together or die, is what makes L4D....L4D. To detract from that would be a sad sad deal.

    I disagree with adding additional weapons. However, something I think that could really add the whole survival-horror scenario would be if you could improvise weapons. Broken glass bottles for a melee that hurts slightly more, lead pipes for an even stronger melee, large hunting knives or axes found in the woods, chainsaws found in old woodsheds. Not only would this be realistic, it would also be awesome. I mean, come on - can you even have a zombie game WITHOUT a chainsaw? Ammo can get pretty tight if you have the M4 and if they made spare ammo scattered around the level even less relevant, then these kind of improvised weapons could really add a whole new layer of intensity and despair.
