    There's nothing worse as infected than 2 or 3 failed booms in a row. It completely blows the round for you. I like being the boomer because there really is some pressure to do well. I have to say that I hate being the first boomer of the game though. It sucks because you know the survivors are waiting for you and you have to jump out of the same 2 or 3 spots that boomers are always hiding in.

    I'm surprised so many people put smoker as least favorite though. My list would go Smoker, Hunter = Boomer, Tank. I hate being the damn tank. If you don't kill all 4, you're a failure. If you do, nobody cares.

    The more and more I read through this thread the more of a n00b I felt I was. That was until I read this. Smoker, Hunter / Boomer, Tank. Anyway I'm new to the game and even I have noticed the importance of the Boomer. Whether it's providing confusion; slowing down the survivors long enough for your team to respawn; shielding an attacking Smoker; or even "herding" survivors towards the Tank. So many fun things to do with the Boomer.

    Heh, that post just confirmed you're not even close to a noob. You might be new, but at least you're thinking tactically and with your team as the first thought - that's more than some of the (and note the inverted commas here) "pros" can do.
