No thats splash damage , Even though it is Area of effect its only 100% on the center impact and the area's around it are reduced in damage. I.E if you shoot a group of units with it the unit you attacked will take the full 100% and the other units around it takes about 50%(Splash damage).

Protoss High Templar does AoE with his Psionic Storm.

Splash has a radial effect of damage and AoE does 100% to the entire area it effects hence area of effect.

We were playing versus on the NM finale. My teammate was the tank & with one hit, knocked 2 of their players off the building, to their deaths. It was a classic moment...a 2 run homer!!!
Needless to say, the other 2 were just followup for hunters and smokers.

For me it was on Blood Harvest expert on the Finale. And I was going to be the tank.
As soon as the players heard the music they all went into the corner of the farm they were in (Next to the farmhouse where you contact the navy) and waited there for me to get to the entrance.

Instead of doing that I punched the other side of the wall and hit three survivors the one remaining was surprised and ran out without noticeing me. I picked up rubble missed, then just ran after him in the farmhouse and punched him, Game over for the survivors!
