Servers Down right now?

Are the Servers Down as we speak , currently 23:34 as im writing this?

it was fine about a half hour ago , then when i decided time for a game, open up friends, its saying Friends - offline

"No network connection could be made to steam servers. Steam will automatically retry connection until the service becomes available"

i have rebooted , and still the same prob , obviously i cvant ask my friends if they are havin the same problems lol , but flicking through the forums here , noone seems to have posted the usual "FRIENDS OFFLINE HELP PLLSSSSS!!"

So just wandering is it me , or every1 else? maybe steam is down for maintenence?

My "achivements" stats say I haven't completed any ..

And searching for a game to connect to result in a immediate message saying "stopping search" ..
