you dont seem to understand what im saying. it'd be like picking your survivor. you're the same one the entire level. you would be restricted to the same limitations as you are when you play right now. only one boomer, one smoker, and two hunters. and if you didnt want to be your person you could switch at the next level...or quit if youre like that. then there could be an AI SI to come in temporarily just as there is with the survivors

you on comprehendo what i sayo. you know when you pick your survivor? once bill is taken NO ONE CAN BE HIM. thats how this would be. after the boomer is picked NO ONE ELSE CAN BE HIM. after the smoker is picked NO ONE ELSE CAN BE HIM. after both hunters, maybe even make one a girl you can tell the difference and make the ladies happy in one swift and easy motion, and NO ONE ELSE CAN BE HIM/HER. if you dont get what im trying to say now then theres no helping you

Guys - EVERYONE agrees that having 4 boomers/ hunters/smokers would be stupid.
But what about a system where you LIKE playing a certain class, such as smoker - then you will be given priority towards it. Doesn't mean you get it every time, just your percentage for getting it is raised, even if only signficantly. You STILL get the same limits of who can be what, just who gets what first.
Obviously if everyone chooses hunter, it goes back to the current system of total randomness.
For instance, on my team, everyone for the most part has an Si they excel at, I know this guy who is amazing as a smoker and knows all the greatest spots. If he could prefer the smoker class, then lets say in the beginning of the game, he'd get the smoker if no one else choose it.
And make the preference anonymous also, something you pick in the main menu, selecting the preference of "Hunter" or etc.
I really fail to see the harm in this, doesn't mean you'll get whatever infected you choose all the time, just more likely to get it - if three people prefer hunter, you're still going to get that boomer, for that unlucky fellow.
Yet again to repeat myself - NO 4 boomers, no four anything, same class limits, except a system that lets you raise your likelyhood of getting a specific class, that you enjoy playing.
And yes - the tank preference would be along the lines of checking a box stating you do not wish to become the tank or etc.

There are major flaws in your argument, big fella. Not very many people would be happy if they had to "choose" their infected but their infected wasn't available.. causing even more people to leave a lobby before the game starts and causing even more people to leave in game if they quick match to a game and they get the one they don't like.
Your argument isn't only wrong, it's stupid. The only reasonable feature that has been discussed is this "preferred" system.

thats why i said that at the beginning of every level you would repick, and if its that big of a problem i said that you could do a "call a vote" and repick. and it might be stupid but i really like one of my suggestions - girl hunter. make us tell the difference of the two and maybe give the girl different stats; less drop dmg, faster, longer jump or something like that

Personally, if I can I would just force myself to be Boomer/Smoker for ever and be happy for the rest of my career. As I am the worst huntar in the world (80% of my pounces -Just pounces, nothing special like 20 DMG rooftop galores- hit. T_T). I just naturally suck.
But given that the idea is okay for a server mod. Implementing it in-game is something problematic. If you could choose what infected you want, wouldn't most people choose their BEST classes? And wouldn't that make the Survivors job's HARDER?
Me being the worst hunter EVAR, can account for my infected team not getting a win because of my constant missing. We have to reorganize and hit them again constantly until I get stuff right. Or at least we whittle their health down enough to cake walk over their victory run to the safe room. I would rather prefer to incap the survivors long before then, but alas I spawn not as a smoker or boomer...
