Well, my friend's interpretation for why she cries is that she's half human, half zombie. She knows that she's some deathly creature, and is aware of it. She has no soul but doesn't want to be a zombie. So she cries because of it.

Of course, that's his interpretation. Don't think we'll ever know the true meaning~

Aside from the usual answers like "she got pregnent" / "period" etc, i'm going for a different explination.

I'd like to think the Witch cries to be attracting the Survivors to her, sounding like it's someone who isn't infected and scared. Yes, the scared theory may be true, but she growls when they enter her personal space, so her fear drives to anger so she attacks the Survivors.

I say witches cry to make survivors think shes a girl crying... so that would make them see where she is and get close with there lights on so she can kill them. I know because the first time my dad played he heard the witch and he went up to her and she killed him!!![

I say she just cries because shes a zombie, too.

I think that to. It kinda explains why she looks horrified after she's killed someone and runs off after rather than attacking the rest of the survivors.

The dev team wanted to make this game like a horror movie. And that distant crying and a wolf in a sheepskin disguise puts a good touch to it.
