really laggy in single player

idk what the problem is and its single player so i don't think its internet. but here are my specs:

Try turning your desktop resolution down to 1024 or so, then adjust your in-game video settings and see if that helps. Does it start chugging when there are a lot of infected on the screen?

i got the same problem but i mean i lag alot w/ no sound but when i play multiplayer i lag some but not as much as singleplayer plus i got sound on multiplayer
