Some sounds not working..

Hey guys.. I'm the new guy in town and I hope you don't mind me!

anyway I've been having a small problem.. it isn't game breaking but annoying none-the-less.. when I played L4D at my cousins house, everything they said was random.. now I've Downloaded L4D from steam and I've been enjoying myself for the past few days.. but I've been scratching my head for hours now because instead of randomly playing lines when someone talks using the command or yes-or-no keys.. they only use.. what 3 different lines.. why is that?
