Thread: Split Screen on System Link

Heya guys (and the occasional girl),
Yesterday we put two 360s together using a system link connection, no Xbox live stuff whatsoever. We thought it would be possible to play with 3 or 4 people using to 360s this way, but it appears that you can't do splitscreen in a system link game. Is that true or is there some way around it?

I tried looking for answers on google and some l4d sites, but it seems noone understood the question that was asked. The responses were always just either "yes it's possible" or something like "the box says you can have four players on system link"... this doesn't help.

Well, I have experience in these matters... my friends and I have played system-link with the full eight players.

Before setting up any lobby, you have to have both players signed in; that is, enable split-screen for all Xboxes. Have one Xbox make the lobby and set the privacy setting to "system-link" or "local," whichever it says. Then have the other Xbox(es) search for lobbies and join the one that shows up. That's how we hooked our games up, and it always worked.

Did you try to set up split-screen in the lobby/game? Any more details on what exactly you guys did might help diagnose the problem, if there is one.

Edit: Actually, I have a more direct question. Were you using two TV's? L4D won't let you have four people to a single TV, as far as I know.
