Yep, that is a texture/shader issue. Since you have already re-installed the game, I would try lowering your desktop resolution to 1024x768, and then go into the game and put all your settings on low. Then see if the problem is still there. If it goes away, then gradually bump up your settings and see if it reappears.

You could also stop the game, go into your CFG folder, and rename the VIDEO.TXT file to VIDEO.OLD. Then restart the game and go reset your video settings to Recommended and see if that fixes it.

thanks man, butthat doesnīt works... I donīt know what to do... maybe itīs a video card issue... but seems that only the surroundings of the doors and the top of the buildings are doing this. thereīs a problem with some of the textures that canīt load right... the "verify integrity" is ok. itīs very weird..
    do you have another idea

    thanks anyway....

When you reinstalled, did you uninstall the game via your control panel, then download the game, or did you install it from disc?

uninstalled from steam and then downloaded the game again... I have played the level and seems to be some kind of error with specular or reflection shaders... on some metal surfaces the checker texture is invisible until I point the light to them...

Does it happen on other games?

Because if reinstalling didn't help, my best guess would be that your video card is defective. Also, it couldn't hurt to make sure it isn't overheating.

I have 1680x1050 now, but I have tryed the 1024x768 and thereīs no difference. And this problem happens on the HL2 Epidode 1 too... bI donīt think itīs a problem of my video card, because I have played a lot of games and nothing happened... ITīs just this source games... maybe shader programmers are doing something wrong...
