GeForce 8800gt screen tearing with Vsync on.

Ok, so I have this problem that has arised since I installed nvidia 180+ drivers. I'm hoping to find another way to solve it without having to scale back. No matter what I do, I cannot get Vsync to work on L4D now. I tried everything. I activated it in game, and when that didnt work I went into the nvidia options and told my card to force vsync on for L4D. That didnt work either. I currently run the game at 1280x1020 with all other graphics settings at maximum. It ran fine before with no tearing. The game continues to demonstrate screen tearing and it's annoying. Any suggestions?

You can try reducing the resolution of your monitor so it can have better screen refresh rates, so it can keep up with the monster FPS.

Or, activate Triple Buffering. You got two cards anyway.

When you say you can't get it to work, are you saying that you have it enabled in the L4D video options, but you are still experiencing tearing, or that you are unable to enable vsync in the video options?

Does it show up correctly in your VIDEO.TXT file located in your CFG folder?
