    So I have a plan...

...but I'm not sure if it will work.

The plan was first born as my brother was reminiscing to me about the time he and his team "parked" the tank in that air vent right near the elevator, and then pushed it out onto the survivors in the middle of the crescendo event.

I think it was kind of a glitch at the time, however what did interest me was the thought of getting the tank in that air vent. If THAT'S possible, would it not be possible to take the tank, go into the elevator shaft, climb up the shaft (someone will probably have to take control of it midway and climb the rest of the way), and then "park" the tank inside the elevator?

Obviously if that works it would be hilarious to watch their reactions as the doors open and a tank comes charging out at them, not to mention pretty effective as a way to break up their team and possibly snag a quick win.

So anyway, will it work, or is there something that will prevent this from happening? Granted, it's not possible every time based on where the tank spawns, but do you think it'd work?

I'm pretty sure you can't park Tanks anymore. They just keel over dead after their rage meters run out (the AI Tanks, that is).

Aw, that would ruin the whole thing!

Still, I'd like to know for sure if it happens like that or not, since I've seen tanks hang around a long time after being switched to AI.

AI tanks die after awhile. Or at least, the disappear. Once i was playing the NM4, and right at the start, for some reason the tank spawned, by right upstairs at the saferoom....needless to say everyone was like.."wtf?" eventually the tank just died as AI

how about, can you, as a tank, wait on TOP of the elevator, and just as they close the doors, jump in a slaughter them?

Did that happen in co-op or versus? I was asking this because I've heard people say that the tank in versus has no rage meter...

I've definitely seen times where the AI Tank died because it couldn't reach the survivors, namely NM4 and once on DA2. Whether that means it has a rage meter or not... well, what else would it be?

I've seen people spawn as a tank in Versus mode, like I entered a room RIGHT as they spawned and it would just pop up.

Yes, AI have rage meters and I think that they kill other infected to keep the rage going. I saw a video on youtube when a tank was waiting for the survivors on the helipad of NM5 and his rage was running out. There was a hunter waiting for them to climb up the ladder. The tank just looked at the hunter for a second, killed him, and his rage meter went back up. It doesn't work all the time though and I don't know why. And this was just an agreeing comment to torchlight. No parking the tank doesn't work as Valve changed it so that the AI will just rush in no matter what.
