common infected-modify
I'm a mapper from way back in the doom days up till Quake2, then somewhat got out of it (some of my maps where on game disc's back when mags gave um out). just getting into mapping L4D as its such an awsome game. but other then mapping and texture work, im pretty cluless on modifying the game models and such. I was wondering if there is a way to make the common infected take more bullits to kill. Somewaht like expert mode zombie toughness, but I dont want the constant barrage of zombies expert mode puts out. So same amount of zombies that normal does, but just touhger ones.
Also how hard would it be to change one of the infected models to something else? say a dog (no i dont want a dog but im keeping my idea to myslef atm, but res evil dogs would be pretty cool)

Well, I can offer two console commands that would help with your problem. Whether or not these can somehow be put in effect without sv_cheats set to 1, I don't know.
z_health 50
^ Each common infected's health. 50 is default, and you can change it, but this next option would be a better idea.
z_non_head_damage_factor_normal 1
^ Basically, how much damage does a non-headshot do to a zed on Normal. The default is 1, but changing the value to 0.5 (Expert's value) will increase the toughness of each zed to non-headshots.
