Had Enough - L4D locking up and no solution has worked...

I am so sick of this. For the past two months, I have been trying ti fix this problem and it only gets worse. When I was running XP, L4D was simply slightly annoying. It would lock up for five seconds and then it would resume. I did the research and poof, there was the solution. Affinity -- single CPU selection, problem solved. Now I have more ram and Windows 7. Now doing that doesn't work. Now it kicks to Windows for five seconds before going back in...THIS, I could handle...but there was no solution that worked. I reloaded every single NVidia driver there was...ever for the past eight months...nothing. I tried the same for my SB XFi, nothing. I tried single CPU, I tried Windows XP compatibility. I tried turning off settings in my bios. I tired terminating every single program running. None of it worked. NOW, it kicks to windows and stays there...it won't go back into L4D and I will have to close the program and go back into again, loosing everything I had done, including often my spot in the campaign. I am simply not doing this anymore. I have erased the game and re-downloaded it. I have changed all my graphic settings. When I checked my error log, it said the problem was with my video card but nothing I have done has fixed this. This is now TWO operating systems with dozens of combinations of video drivers and sound drivers. Is there no one at Valve reading these hundreds of posts I have seen regarding this issue?

I don't know what else to do. I have been playing this game loyally for months but if this problem has not been fixed, I will not be buying L4D2...I can't take the risk I will purchase a game that cannot be played...
