Thread: Console

I know there are other threads about this but I just want this fixed ASAP. I play on a Finnish keyboard and can't seem to open the console. Here's what I have done so far to try and fix the problem:

Enabled console through the Keyboard commands ingame.
Made an autoexec.cfg in ...\left 4 dead\left4dead\cfg with a bind for "toggleconsole."
Edited the confic.cfg file in ...\left 4 dead\left4dead\cfg to bind the seemingly not working tilde key to something else.

However, NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. The game doesn't seem to recognize the autoexec.cfg, and when I edited the config.cfg file (AND SAVED IT) it reversed all my changes straight away when I launched the game.

What should I do?

For your information, I used Google and one of the first pages it showed was this one.

FIX 1: I don't want to swap my keyboard to US English since it will f*** up a lot of my keyboard settings.

FIX 2: Doesn't help as the console can't even be brought up.

FIX 3: As stated in my original post, the game reverses the edits I do in the config.cfg file. No userconfig.cfg is available.
