Even those these are directly related.

Take the boomer for example, a short person wouldn't nearly be able to produce enough bile to accomodate such a heavily aggreesive expanding disease, a mutation will mutate, therefor it has to of had some something to mutate to start with, the tank for a second example, could quite legitamtly be a cross with the infection and steroids, the smoker could be a cross between the infection and tar/nicotine, the hunter...

Wait a second, why on EARTH am I trying to find logic in this.

The Hunter's a freerunner. They've got sellotape around their thighs and wrists, which is what freerunners (Traceurs) in France do.

I always thought the special infected were regular zombies who changes into something more. That was why Bill notices in the beginning intro of the first game.

The tank was a gov't project gone wrong. They were mating humans and apes and apparently got a deformed angry humanape. Notice how it runs like an ape......

Witch, Atypical Drama Queen, who when some real nasty drama came along didn't handle it very well, maybe lost her young children or something to really hit home with the despair.

Hunter, Parkour blokey, all though with the ammount of Hunters you would think everyone could free run.

The mutations will have just been brought on at random I reckon but if there was a defining reason that turned certain people into certain infected, then I reckon this is OK. :cc:
