    I think at least part of it has to do with the fact that most people when they pick you up as an infected are just being dicks, which should be banned.

    But I'd argue that picking someone up to knock them off a hight is a legitimate tactic for a tank. I've not yet seen anyone use it that way, but it sounds like a pretty sweet deal for the tank. heh

    Picking someone up then smashing them back down just to keep the game from ending so you can gloat over a beaten team of survivors is just poor sportsmanship assholishness. But then, IMO any competition with rules should have rules governing conduct. Taunting is okay and celebrating is okay, but being a dick just to be a dick is wrong.

    I think the rule against picking people up should consider the situation. If the match is not already ending because they are all down and they are on a height where they could be knocked off of and there is a tank to do the punting then I got no problems with it.

    I'm a little split on if all four survivors are already down but a tank picks them up and punts them. On the one hand it's a little gratuitous, but on the other hand it might reduce their score further, which is a legitimate point of competition.

    If there is not both a tank and a height to be punted off of I don't see a compelling reason for infected to pick someone up. The only advantage I can see to it is if the infected knows they won't be able to kill them on the ground, they might rather get the survivor up before the others come to their rescue so they can at least do some lasting damage, since all the damage done on the ground will be erased if the survivor isn't killed. Even then I think it's a stretch, though and it would probably be better to just claw them on the ground and hope another infected can help or distract the other survivors.

    I dunno. But 99% of the time an infected picks up a survivor he's just being an asshole. ;p

    I'll give you a good reason why picking up survivors as the infected shouldn't be allowed in a competitive match. I did this against some publics one day and while they didn't complain about it I felt like we robbed them afterwards.

    Heres what happened;

    I became the tank at the top of the hospital as the elevator doors opened. I managed to incap two members of the other team right off however the other two rushed towards the safe room and locked themselves in there long before I could do anything about it.

    I pick up one of the incapped survivors and allow him to limp to the safe room. When he opened the door I rushed in right behind him and incapped all three of them.

    Would anyone here consider that a valid move? I know I don't...

    Agreed. In a competitive match it's about winning. However the fact that this was public meant that there was a good chance that one or all of the survivors didn't have mics. This being said, in a competitive match, the survivors would tell the bait what you were planning. I think it was the third Jurassic Park movie where the raptors left one of the humans alive to lure the rest down to help him. Same thing here.

    Again, in a public match like that I think it should be about realism. The Tank is meant to be a mindless killing machine and should be used as such. In a match where winning truly matters, I see this as fine. If you're not allowed to use strategy, what's the point of playing a game based on teamwork?

    In a competitive match, you wouldn't have survivors split apart.

    Public matches may be less coordinated, but I think they should still be played in a competitive spirit rather than roleplaying what you think a tank is supposed to do. heh

    Sorry, I have absolutely no qualms about the infected capitalizing on a survivor's stupidity. Even without a mic that one survivor should have known better than to let a tank into the safe room. Though maybe he was hoping the other two could take down a tank.
