    Stuck in a rut.

Hey guys, just wanted to know what everybody does when they feel that their 'game' is in a rut. You know, you can't land a big pounce or even a regular pounce without being deadstopped or killed in air, you're unable to land solid bile or your human game isn't working? My friend is in this situation and wanted some input in regards to the matter.

I told him that he should just play some easy campaigns and speedrun through them and see how he does. (his concern was more for human than infected.) I also told him to play a private game versus against his little brother and see how he does lol. What steps should he take in order to 'get back on track?'

Funnily enough I felt like this a couple of months ago, I couldn't do anything right, what I did is went back to basics, the problem I was having was I trying to do special shit and none of it was working. I started off doing some easy campaigns with an autoshotgun and practiced dead stops then went into a versus game with three friends and pub-stomped. I wasn't really having an infected problem but more of a survivor problem, but after the pub stomp, I felt much better about how I was playing. Let me know if that helps him at all because it really helped me.

Actually, come to think of it I was having some problems as infected. I was trying to and expecting to hit survivors with high damage pounces from intense wall-jumping but continued to miss. To fix this I arced my pounces a lot to give myself time to maneuver in the air and would only attack after the boomer had attack or when we had a 3n1.

I went through the same thing too, I just started thinking more about how to play the game well, and picked up things off good players.

Survivors, [Right Bumper] is your friend. Think about the map and which gun will help more, long corridors, bottlenecking horde, or big open spaces, never full unload a auto or pump shotgun, in horde bottlenecks, melee, shoot, melee, shoot, pace yourself.

Infected, just don't feel paniced into attacking, wait until the right time, I do the same thing, I think she I should speed this up, run around the cornor as a boomer and then watch my screen get covered in gutty confetti.

Don't pounce 4 people on your own, wait for a boomer distraction, or a smoker distraction, then land a high pounce on some unexpecting nubling.

    Hope this helps.

We have had a lot of luck getting our friends into a private versus game with all of us in a party together. As we run through the maps we can keep in touch and let each other know what is working and what isnt. You would be suprised how often a buddy on the other side will tell me how he/she could see me coming from a mile away (the whole time I think Im being sneaky).

If nothing else it will be a good time with lots of good humored trash talking. Maybe that alone will be enough to get you back into the game. Sometime you just need a break from the regular vs matches and campaigns.
