There! I fixed my L4D, online works just fine now.... Read this "article" https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...2037-QEUH-3335 ... You should open the "My Games" tab, right click on "Left 4 Dead", click on "Properties", click on the "Local Files" tab, then you press "Verify integrity of game cache..." .. Let it work a few minutes, and voilį! Iggy, thanks for all the help

Left 4 Dead, when installed, locks itself to a single Steam account. You can't be signed into a Steam account from more than one computer, so your hint is probably there - either you're trying to freeload off your friend's copy, in which case you don't own the game, or your friend came over and installed a cracked/pirated copy of the game, in which case you don't own the game.
I'd recommend buying a copy of the game if you want to play it, or if you want any help from us. Thanks.

I just bought this game last night from gamefly and played it a few hours with a friend no problems. Today it will not find servers, create a server, not even create a local server. I have reset my router, disabled firewall, put PC in the DMZ, re installed the game, checked integrity of game cache, deleted blob.dll in steam folder, ffs I even sacrificed a virgin to the game god. *jk on the last one. My friend also bought a copy from gamefly yesterday and his is working. Please help.
