Thread: game doesn't execute

So I have this weird problem. I've been playing l4d for months before and everything was fine, but today was my unlucky day:

today I installed newest l4d patch, everything worked fine. Than a several hours later I restarted my PC and the game doesn't execute anymore, I've tried reinstalling the game a couple of times- with patches, without... still nothing, the game wouldn't start. I don't know what's the deal... :/ Anybody know how I can fix this?

When you say it doesn't execute, do you mean it just doesn't open? Does l4d.exe show up on your processes tab, but not on your screen?

If it's not opening the game client you might have some sort of corrupted registry key preventing the process from starting. Try downloading a registry cleaner (RegistryWinner is relatively good) and cleaning up your PC. Just don't use the free version of any registry cleaner - it doesn't fix important errors, it will only let you tweak things.
