Left 4 Dead: First Encounters With The Special Infected

Hey guys I had this idea a little while ago, and I decided to put it together recently. I like writing but I know I am rubbish at it, so don't be TOO harsh

    -------------------------------

    Dear Diary,

These 'Special Infected', as we call them, there a mystery aren't they? You wonder how they were different
when they were actually human, why they changed when the infection got to them. I came across these diary
entries as I travelled the world getting away from the infection. I decided to put these together to show
you what seem to be the first encounters with the Special Infected...

    Boomer

    Dear Diary,

When the infection first came about, I ran... and ran... and ran. I ran so fast that no 'zombie' could catch
up with me. But I didn't run alone, I was with my best friend, Steven.

My name is Lauren, I am 21 years old and I lived in a small town on the side of Fairfield City. I had to leave
the town and get away from anywhere near Fairfield, it was overrun. My family became infected and so did
Steven's, but we didn't. We survived, and we're still surviving... No... I'M still surviving...

Eventually we came to a very small village in the countryside, a few zombies were there, but we dodged them and
barricaded ourselves into a small but very old house, and thats where we lived for the second week of the
    infection.

But one night we were sleeping in the attic and we could here a loud bang on the roof.

"Something is up there..." I whispered to Steven, who woke up to the bang. "They know where here!"

"It can't... how can it, we have been completely quiet." Steven whispered even quieter back.

Then there was a bigger bang and a crash, and some tiles fell through. I hid behind Steven, I knew we were going
to die. We couldn't defend ourselves, we had a pistol each and hardly any ammo. I thought I would starve to death
due to the lack of food in the house, but the thought of zombies ripping us apart and killing us sickened me,
and then the zombie fell through into the attic where we were.

It was huge. It was fat and bulgy. It was DISGUSTING. Steven held out the pistol and was about to shoot the
creature, when a green, thick, gooey substance gushed out of it's mouth... it threw up on me! The warm sick
felt horrible, and I kept my mouth shut so I couldn't eat it by accident. The 'thing' was only just seeable,
I could notice it's horrible boils and mutated skin, and I looked away.

Steven then shot at it, and it exploded, in a big boom. It was a... erm... Boomer, I think that's an appropriate
name for this creature. Anyway at this time I was digusted and I was wiping the sick from my face, I couldn't
see properly. Then we heard screams, and bangs on the door.

"We're going to die, WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" I screamed at Steven. He looked at me, and tears welled up in his eyes.

"I never told anyone this before... but I love you, I really love you." Steven replied sadly.

I couldn't say anything back though, as tens of zombies have crashed through the door and started climbing up the stairs.
Steven shot a few of them.

"There coming for me! It must be the sick, or the impact of that 'Boomer's' explosion!" I realised.

Then suddenly they surrounded me. And everything became a blur. My life flashed before me and I was sobbing in
the corner as the zombies were about to scratch and rip at my skin, then Steven rushed over and knocked the zombies
    about.

"I'll hold them off, get out of here!" Steven shouted.

    "But..." I cried...

"I said GET OUT OF HERE!" Steven cut in.

We took one last look at each other and I did as I was told. I got out of the house, hearing Steven's screams from
inside. I started sobbing then pulled myself together and I ran... and ran... and ran.

It's decent, a few spelling errors but nothing major. Just add a little more backstory.

One major thing I was taught is: Never kill off a character close to the main character without any back story, otherwise it just becomes boring filler. Other then that, it was great.

Cool. We had a few people doing a running story / war journal type thing on TPG when L4D came out. Keep it up. Keep it rolling.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.
