New Info from OXM Magazine
In the US December Issue of '09, I have found some neat new info, including:
- How Boomer Bile (grenade) works
- How the Gnome Achievement works
- What buttons press for Special Infected attacks (like if you need to charge the Charger's attack like the Hunter's)
- Defibrillator Article (nothing new though)
- *NEW*HOW CARNIVAL GAMES WORK
- *NEW*DARK CARNIVAL FINALE REVEALED
- More, when I read again
DO NOT ASK ME TO POST ANYTHING LIKE SCANS! I WILL MOST LIKELY IGNORE YOU!
Here goes:
(By the way, QFA = Quote from article.)
-----
Bile Bomb/Bile Jar (grenade)
You can throw this at anything and a whole horde will go to that spot.
QFA: "The Bile Jar is exactly what you think it is: Boomer bile on tap. Try throwing at a Tank and watching the Infected swarm the big baddy of their own kind.
Gnome Chompski
Basically, you win him from a [hard] carnival game from Dark Carnival. See "Carnival Games".
QFA: "Dedicated Orange Box fans and determined Achievement hunters will no doubt recall the "Little Rocket Man" achievement from Half-Life 2, which tasked you with hauling an unexplained garden gnome - around with you for most of the game. Apparently, he's survived the City 17 situation and the zombie apocalypse and is now a prize waiting to be won at the Whispering Oaks carnival's Peanut Shooting Gallery. We weren't able to win the little bastard, but Valved hints that another Gnome-chievement may be waiting for you.
Note: Another, achievement? YES.
Special Infected Versus Attack Buttons
Charger
Just press RT to charge for Xbox. Most likely a left-mouse click for PC.
QFA: "Fortunately, you don't have to pounce on your foes by crouching with LB the way you do as a Hunter. Instead, simply aim at your target and pull RT to make a beeline toward them."
Spitter
Not Clear guys, sorry. Basically all it says is that she's good for teamwork, that's it. I won't bother posting a quote.
Most likely RT for Xbox to spit and left-mouse click for PC.
Jockey
Leap onto a survivor with LB (what?) on the Xbox to ride a survivor. Don't know what that is for PC.
QFA: "You'll need to leap with LB and grab onto a Survivor's noggin to ride your target, but once you do, you can try to steer them away from their buddies (who can counter your movements with the thumbsticks) - straight into the awaiting arms of your pals, who will be happily waiting to torture them with spit, claws, and sheer brutal strategy."
Defibrillator
Not much new info, just a little article about it.
QFA: "Before we knew it, one of the Valve-ites had made his way over to our corpse and pulled out another new Left 4 Dead 2 goodie: a defibrillator! Right when our character got ganked, we lost the melee weapon we were holding (we'd snagged a hand-axe and managed to hack a few zombies with it), but the minute we were zapped back to life... bingo! Hand-axe, here we come!"
Carnival Games
Peanut Shooting Gallery
Basically you use your actual bullets to hit targets and score points. Reward? GNOME CHOMPSK
QFA: "The first is the Peanut Shooting Gallery (where you'll be using actual bullets). Start the sequence and score 750 points (we fell 40 points short), and you'll win a very familiar-looking garden gnome (see sidebar, next page)."
Note: The part where it says "see sidebar, next page", is basically just a picture of Chompski.
Test of Strength/Stache Whacker
Swing the melee weapon as hard as you can to ring the bell, recommended using Adrenaline, as it speeds up everything you do.
QFA: Basically what I just said above.
Dark Carnival Finale
The map is supposedly called "Concert" which takes place on a stage and bleachers in a walled-in are and activate a fake rock show. Multiple Tanks, simultaneous hordes from multiple areas. NO WHERE TO RUN OR HIDE (Yes!). Rescue is a news chopper.
QFA: "The actual finale managed to be even more intense. In "Concert", you'll have to patrol both the stage and the bleachers in a tight, walled-in arena as you activate a fake rock show. Multiple Tanks, simultaneous hordes attacking from multiple angles, no where to run or hide - if you played the original, you know what to expect from a finale. While waiting for the news chopper to come and lift us out of the area, we managed to beat back dozens of zombies with the guitars scattered around the stage and then find another new boomstick atop a light stanchion in the bleachers; a grenade launcher, which changed the entire dynamic of the battle."
