System Link problem..

Alright, so, a buddy of mine just went out and bought L4D GotY. Well, I have the regular edition, and last night, we tried system linking. Both 360's can read the other's lobby.. but it won't let either of us connect. Says something about a patch being needed in order to play, or something like that.. So, we patched up, using live and thought that would fix it.. We were wrong. It didn't do anything to help us. And there must not be anymore patches, 'cause when running my 360 while connected to live, it jumps straight to the game, without asking if I would like to download any patches... Any help? It would be greatly appreciated.

Did you download the Survival Pack, guy who has the original game? Because GOTY edition comes pre-loaded with the survival pack. Its free if you dont have it.

Yea, I downloaded it before he told me that he bought it. So, yea, I don't know what else to try. Lol.

From what I can see, yes, we both have all the updates. And no, neither of us have crash course.

Yea, there is someone. I'm not sure if he has a copy of L4D, though.

try system linking using his xbox maybe
or rent a copy of l4d- as a last resort though.

this probably isnt true, but it might possible have something to do with him have the goty version and you having the regular one.
