Thread: L4D2 on the PC

Hello everyone, in my country of Australia we have a shitty censored version of L4D2 (Of which I have on the 360), however importing your own uncensored copy is perfectly legal, so I've found a great place from NZ that is willing to ship me a cheap, new copy of it on the PC, 100% uncensored. Gotta love legal loop holes!

HOWEVER, from what I've seen on these forums you need a Steam ID and account and all this and that, but that confuses the hell out of me, so I'm wondering if anyone can explain that process for getting my soon to be here copy up and running and up to date. I'm a real dumbass so try be very simple with what you say, thanks in advance!

Well just go download steam and make an account, you can even buy l4d2 off steam and you get it digitally as a download.

Why would Australia censor a game if you can import it legally uncensored, it should be up to parents what they want to children to see not the government.

Any ways when you install the game from the disc it will install steam for you and you to make an account if you do not have one already, pretty simple.

Thanks for the information, makes things much more simple, however from what I've heard if it knows I'm Australian it may fuck with my downloads in regards to it, that and Internet in Australia is extremely bad, unlike other nations we cannot get unlimited downloads without being throttled back, in fact the best deal for our country is 30 gigs a month for $150!! That's fucking terrible, so downloading a full game... Not really something that would be the best idea.

We can import because of legal loop holes, the people in charge are mentally retarded, so you can understand why it was overlooked. Either way, that's pretty much the stance our country takes as well with 91% of voters saying "GIVE US AN R18+ RATING FOR GAMES!" (ATM our games only rate up to MA15+, We would have the R rating, however we need all state leaders to agree to it, however at the moment we have one worthless coot in power who refuses to allow it, the man also believes THE INTERNET, DVD's, pretty much everything should be censored, There are many protests to have him excluded from such decisions, wish us luck! but the board is usually less-judgmental, allowing games like GTA4 (Rated R18+ in most countries) to allowed in by merely removing the ability to see in through the window to see yourself fuck a hooker. However L4D2 has suffered, we gamers who SHOULD be able to play the games and are able to handle the content due to age would gladly give up that high violence MA15+ shit to get games properly rated and un-raped.
