    L4D2 achievements distinctly easier?

Okay, okay, I've only had the game for a week or so, so I don't have all the L4D2 achievements yet (hell, I don't even have all the L4D achievements). But today I did "Wing and a prayer" and a few of the other "harder" L4D2 achievements and I swear they're nowhere near as difficult as those in L4D (e.g. Untouchables/Safety First/Zombie Genocidest/Stomach Upset). I remember it took me aaaaaages to rack up a decent score in L4D. I've had L4D2 for about a week and I'm on about 600g.

I just want to feel like I've worked hard for my g!

That said, I haven't even bothered with expert or realism yet, so maybe I'm complaining too early...

Anyone else feel the L4D2 achievements are easier?

I think they've just reduced the number of very hard ones. Scattering ram, the expert and realism ones, guardin gnome, heartwarmer, all promise to be very hard.

I'm kinda glad, as I could not manage many of the harder l4d ones without a good team, and this lets me earn them gradually too, which i prefer to the l4d earn a load then none for months once i hit the harder lot.

Yeah, I only have about eight more achievements to get on the Xbox, most of which are Versus/Scavenge related, since I don't play them all too often.

I'm at 43/50 (with 3/5 done on Still Something to Prove), mostly missing the expert and scavenge ones (along with Scattering Ram, which still eludes me), whereas in L4D1 I'm at like 55/68 since I don't have the myriad of Survival achieves they threw in, along with a few others.

Apart from a handful of harder and/or luck-based achievements, I definitely find the L4D2 achievements to have been much easier overall... though I'm still dreading Dark Carnival Expert, as well as The Real Deal.

    theres only to hard ones,
    the two expert ones.
L4D2's list didnt even reach half the difficulty of the first list.

the GG achievement was simple, set the game to single player, set it to easy mode, grab the gnome and watch the bots do all the work for you.

The reason for them SEEMING easier is because VALVE is giving achievements that are a lot less gimmicky, because let's face it, don't take damage from ANY special infected for an entire campaign? yes, that's plausible (I do have the achievement, and yes, we all know it is a load of crap)... Never get boomed on? Totally fair considering where they can spawn and blast you (I own this one as well, I feel I must so it doesn't feel like I'm doing nothing by whining) from places you would normally never even consider to look at all (especially with some of the NPC ones, player ones aren't as bad as these I find because some NPC's literally hit from places which are meant to be unreachable to player infected)? Right? Don't take ANY damage AT ALL on a finale? OK, I can't be sarcastic here, this one is bullshit (and no, this one I don't have).

Quite frankly most of the infected achievements are still gimmicky because there's no other real way to have achievements for players acting as them (even then the L4D2 infected achievements are much less gimmicky), so this can really be overlooked by comparison. Heartwarmer though is just a joke, because the chances of that happening properly is about the same as being struck by lightning, so most players will just do as I did and set a VS. match to HR3 (There is a 100% chance of a defibrillator being in the safe-room with the gas) grab a buddy to play as infected and kill my bot team-mate (after I shot all but one to death) directly outside the safe-room so I could walk in and out and save him, after which we would swap so he could achieve it as well (I'm on the PC for L4D2, so no dual-screening with my second controller for me for these achievements).

It's not that L4D1 was harder, it's just that is was a lot "cheaper" in regards to achievements. L4D2 hasn't gotten rid of all the terrible gimmick achievements, however it does have a lot less.

Try it on the DA finale with the bots. Search the map and make sure you grab a pipe bomb, then camp in the bottom right corner of the map (as you come out the saferoom), near the fences and facing out towards the centre, with the plane wreckage on your left.

Once you've alerted the horde and returned to the corner, you should be able to pick off the zombies (including SI) from a distance. The only thing you may have to be careful of is infected coming over the fence behind you (I haven't seen it happen that often, but it does from time to time). For tanks, run over to the left side of the map, behind the crashed plane. The tank will either spawn further over to the left, or behind the wreckage, but you should be near enough that it doesn't start throwing rocks. Focus all your attention on taking it down (I use the AR and keep a reasonably safe distance). With the bots auto-aim it shouldn't take long to kill it. Don't light it up with a molotov as the bots may get hit by the fire.

Retreat to the corner and repeat the steps for the second horde and tank.

When the end of finale music starts up, start running towards the plane. You need to time your pipebomb throw so that you throw it when the horde starts, throw it too early and it'll explode before you get to the plane and the bots will inevitably end up taking damage from the horde, even if you don't. Get on to the plane and go right to the back. With any luck the bots will follow you in.

It took me about 5 attempts to get it like that, mainly because the bots kept taking damage, but it's a good way to get the achievement if you're on your own.

I agree with this, all though i got this on DA without even meaning to, it just happened. I dunno I think Valve have just tried to put a few mor 'realistic' ones in so that you don't ned an elite squad to get most of them.
