that's what i did and i completed it on my first attempt with all 4 survivors.

I always keep a chainsaw for just such an ocashun

but seriously, i always take an automatic tier2 like a SCAR, a bile bomb or atleast a pipebomb and the chainsaw

what ive always done, from the start go to the left (big surprise), and just keep using your automatic weapon and pressing forward until you have the option to go to the 2nd level of the bridge. now if youre doing fine, just stay down and head forward, if youre doing bad, go to the top, get more ammo, and theres usualy a health kit behind you, then go forward.
when the tank spawns, just run like hell and he should pose no problem, climb onto the gas truck and get your bile/pipe ready when you drop down to land toss your pipe/bile, get your chainsaw reved and just HAUL ASS to the chopper.
at that point its survival of the fittest, screw survivors who are in trouble

The only time my strategie didn't work was in versus, but i still got to the mainland before i got jockey'd
