    Question Slow walking zombies

Who else thinks Left 4 Dead should, or should've, had slow walking zombies along with the runners? For a 'zombie' game, it'd be more realistic, not to mention a bit different in their behaviors. It's also be kinda creepy.

The thing is, L4D isn't a true zombie game because they aren't actually "zombies" in the traditional sense, they are infected.

They are more like the rage-infected in the 28 Days/Weeks Later films rather than your living-dead Romero-esque zombie.

It should be noted that the Common Infected bear a resemblance to the "zombies" in the movie 28 Days Later, as they are not the undead monsters of traditional zombie culture but living people Infected with a rabies-like virus.
    From the L4D wiki.

I personally wouldn't have liked slow moving Resident Evil style zombies. They would feel out of place in this game imo with everything else begin so fast paced.

    +1.

The problem with slow moving things in FPS games is that they become near-stationary targets to be picked off or just maneuvered around. Would remove some of the fun and suspense from L4D imo as part of that is having a horde charging after you at full pelt.

A horde of shambling zombies edging towards you wouldn't quite have the same effect, especially if there is any form of distance between you and the z-guys.

I was quite happy playing Res Evil until I tried L4D, then found I couldnt go back to Res Evil. It was now cronically slow and I ended up selling it back with no interest in finishing the campaign. Left 4 Dead Rocks!

Resident Evil is a horror/suspense game, Left 4 Dead is not (it's a multiplayer FPS). Resident Evil would lose everything that made it popular if it were like Left 4 Dead, and vice-versa.

Besides, having zombies would make the game unbalanced. The infected are perfectly fine.

I didnt say either game had to be alike did I? I was refering to the game play and finding it hard to revert back to a slower pace.
