    think about the survivor from a logical standpoint: assuming that Advanced is the most "true to life" difficulty, how often does a survivor in your group die? Now, remove respawn closets, respawns at the next level. dying is as it is in life, absolutely permanent.

    Now, you know how hard it is to simply survive against the zombies, but add in all the real world necessities. Difficulty finding fresh water, food, fighting off disease and wild animals, as well as just maintaining the will to keep going are just a few difficulties that are involved in surviving. Now factor back in the zombies.

    I personally would think it stupid if valve had NOT had at least one survivor die.

    Something i need to add.
    Arent all of the survivors immune, so that would mean he/she couldnt die from a infection, unless he was mauled or something.
    Or maybe you think one of them were hiding the fact they were infected?
    Yeah, the sacrificial survivor will most likely be mauled to death by zombies. Probably 8 tanks at once haha.

    Valve just HAS to be trolling. There are 4 L4D1 survivors on the poster and all 4 L4D1 voice actors, according to IMDb, have lines in L4D2.
    Zombies can navigate complex terrain, yet they lack the manual dexterity to open doors. Just one of the mysteries of life... erm... death.

    My understanding of the message was that they meet all 4 survivors during the 1st campaign and only 3 during the final campaign. I think that the DLC for L4D1 will explain how the originals run into the L4D2 characters and what they are doing while the L4D2 characters are completing their mession. I also thnk that during the final campaign who ever plays as the lost survivor will have to make the ultimate sacrifice in order for the other survivors to live.

    i heard about this a while ago, and couldn't quite figure it out, it just hit me. what if it's random what survivor "died." like the first time you play it was Francis, but the second time it was Louis.

    from what i've heard, at the end of the L4D1 DLC someone will have to sacrifice themselves, so the person who died would be random, and they said something about a comic telling us who really died. so maybe the random death will carry over into L4D2?

    I'm fully convinced that it's randomized... Otherwise there would only be three L4D1 survivors on the poster... I think. I'm just praying it's not Bill. Take anyone else... just not Bill.
