Thread: Minor annoyance

I noticed something when playing LFD1 in single player mode.
Several times I have thrown pipe bombs at the zombies.
What I find annoying however is that my auto-controlled team mates immed-
iately start to shoot at the crowd of infected gathering around the pipe bomb
before it goes off.
I feel like telling them (if there was a way) to have some sense and save your
bullets.
The reason why I threw that bomb in the 1st place was to save my ammo by
hopefully blowing up 8 - 10 zombies in one instant.

Besides I kind of enjoy seeing that bomb go off and seeing those damn moronic creatures go up in the air in pieces.
I can't get over thinking how funny it is to see that.

Their AI was created by GLaDoS. What do you expect?

I agree with you. You would think they would stop shooting once they have gathered around the bomb, but they don't. It's a bit useless.

Speaking of pipe bombs, am I the only one who wishes that you actually saw the pieces of bodies falling to the ground after an explosion? Usually there is just a lot of blood that goes into the air and all the infected have disappeared.

Sorry to take such a while to reply to this one.
But now you mention it the graphics in LFD1 are not as graphic as in LFD2.
In the latter game you do see the zombies go up in pieces as opposed to just an explosion of blood that you see in LFD1.

The AI have unlimited ammo, though. So unless you're going for the achievement or the cinematic of it all then it shouldn't matter, to be honest.

You sure they do? I picked up my dead bot's gun and he had only 14 shots from his auto-shotgun. Plus bots get ammo as well.

Yes, I'm sure. Camp in a isolated room (i.e. no items in it, a single entrance, etc) and see how long it takes you to run out of ammo, and then double the amount of time you're in the room (say you run out of ammo in 10 minutes, wait another ten minutes in the room) and stay there for that tim. Heck, go on Easy, hide behind the bots and leave your Xbox/PC running for an hour.

The AI will switch between their primary and pistols a lot, for whatever reason, though they ultimately have infinite ammo.

Really? Yeah, I haven't played L4D2 yet (I will soon), so I didn't know.

I suppose that in the end, pipe bombs do serve their purpose of getting the hordes off your backs in tough situations, but it is still nice to see the pipe bomb kill the zombies. The actual presentation, like someone mentioned earlier.
