Thread: Ping Question

Hi.

Recently when playing L4D2 probably 4 out of 5 games, I experience monster ping fluctuation. Ill jump from 50 to 3-400 and be frozen for a good 30 seconds. I have nothing running in the background and everything seems fine with my pc. I notice it kind of cycles through me and two teammates. Ill get it and freeze, then I'll go back to normal and a teammate will then have his ping skyrocket and he freezes. This is both when we are infected or survivor.
My system:

Intel Core 2 Quad
2.40 ghz
Ram 3.0G
32 bit

Not sure if its my hardware or steam/L4D2. My other Steam games run fine. It just makes me quit as I feel completely at a disadvantage and it really isn't fair for me to be a frozen survivor holding my teamates back so I just quit out now when it happens. Every now and then I run perfectly fine through a whole campaign but now that has become few and far between.

I just would like some suggestions or testimonies that Im not the only one its happening to, because as is, it makes the game unplayable and unenjoyable.

I appreciate the help. I wish I could say weather or not they were local hosts but i just didn't notice it. That will be the first thing I check if it happens again.
