Nice, didn't know he had any videos in first person. He's pretty good, especially at kai jumping.
I learned what I know from videos similar to that one and friends in game so I wasn't trying to imply that they can't be helpful. But as you said certain things do need to be explained to people. Jump curving is something a lot of people don't know how to do effectively because no one takes the time to explain.
My goal with these sessions are to give people plenty of time to practice and explain things to the best of my ability. I've also been attempting to write a "hunter guide" for a month or so but it just keeps getting longer and longer. When I do finish it I will post it and use it in conjunction with the training sessions.
I've found that I'm not the best at explaining what I know to people over voice chat. I think this is mostly due to my strong hillbilly accent though. Some things are hard to explain and people have to do it that first time before they get what your trying to explain (like pounce sliding and curving your pounce). The other day I had a short session with a user from this forum and I don't think he understood a lot of what I was showing him due to me explaining it poorly. I'm pretty sure he learned a thing or two though.
I'd also like to back up your claim about begin a hunter on the xbox: Everything you see the PC players doing is possible aside from the fact that some of the roofs are blocked off on the xbox version as I'm sure you know. I wish we could use some of those roofs on the xbox..especially on the Dead air maps.

Yeah, I remember trying to explain to my friend how to vertical jump. That was hard enough - kai jumping was a whole other experience. Truly a pain. But he kept practicing on his own and got excellent at it. It was nice having like that someone that on my team all the time, we'd wind up playing stupid games like "Horse", seeing who could make a jump from a certain position doing a certain trick and seeing if the other could match it. Obviously the other team had to be awful to allow them that kind of leeway.
I hope I didn't come off as standoffish, I tend to do that. It would of been nice to have someone like you actually teach me the little ins and outs.
Truth be told, all you can really do is try to explain, the general concept - at the end of the day, they're the ones who have to try and perfect it. Curving in and out is pretty simple to explain but it's so hard to actually implement/make into a habit.

Sorry, I was in one of those arsey moods last night... what I really meant to say was something along the lines of: 'I find that impossible to do on analogue sticks. Give me a mouse and a keyboard and I'm infinitely better.'
i sometimes have a little trouble understanding things from other people's POV ...[s]L4D - PC & Xbox 360[/s]

I will when I build my new PC most likely. But I probably will not play L4D1 that much on the PC as I'm interested in making a mod for the sequel.
If you can get access to a xbox for awhile maybe you can join us though? Everything I will cover will apply to the PC.
Lava: Sounds good. I'll probably be holding a session tomorrow if your on.

I know this thread's been dead for a few weeks, but any chance of getting some hunter school in session in the near future? I just re-newed my Live account today, so probably missed out on the last time you guys got together for some practice. It'd be good to make this a regular forum thing!
RIP Mike Starr
