    Can My Laptop Run L4D?

I was thinking about getting L4D for the PC ((I saw it for sale cheap)) But can my specs for the Laptop i have run it?

I know it's possible i'm looking at the lowest setting.

OS Name Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Basic
    Processor Genuine Intel(R) CPU 585 @ 2.16GHz, 2161 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 1 Logical Processor(s)
    Total Physical Memory 984 MB
    Available Physical Memory 127 MB
    Total Virtual Memory 2.18 GB
    Available Virtual Memory 930 MB

Edit: Used Can I Run It and these are the results

Not looking good, would it help if i used the lowest settings or would it still not matter?

You might want to add a couple more GB of ram, especially since you're running Vista; having only 1GB of ram on Vista is not good for gaming at all.

Buuuut, even if you did add more ram, you'll still have issues. And since most laptops can't be upgraded, you might have to buy a new one.

I haven't scanned my PC to see if i could, i'm going to do that later and post the results.

Something tells me it's time to put money into my 4 year old Machine.

    Why switch? just curious.
I often thought about playing on my PC or laptop.

I'd switch for the slight advantage of mouse and KB aiming, but the amount of money it would cost me is just not reasonable. That said, I'm so used to the Xbox controller now, I honestly don't think I'd be much better on KB and mouse.

Danny: You might be able to run it on that laptop. Up the RAM, and kill every visual setting you can in L4D, even simple things like dynamic lighting effects etc. You *might* be able to get it to run, but it won't look particularly amazing if you can get it to run lag free during hordes etc.

Do us a favour though, if you do get it to run, please don't stop playing on the Xbox!

Having played both - I prefer the xbox version. But that's just because its more comfortable to me. It's honestly not a difference.

It would be slow/laggy as hell and would probably crash to the desktop very often... i.e. not worth the money.

You definitely want more ram, atleast 2GB. Because integrated graphics take away from your ram. Other than that, i might be worried about your CPU.

I run L4D fine with Intel GMA 4500M and 2GB of RAM on Vista Basic. However, i have a dual-core cpu, and you only have a single core.
