    L4D2 weapon spawns weirdness?

Has anyone noticed that the game will sometimes spawn the same weapon or type of weapon in a bunch?

For example, I was playing No Mercy 4 on versus, and the saferoom only had a Hunting Rifle and a Sniper Rifle. Same thing happened at the weapon table in NM3. Then today I found 3 scars on NM2, and another 3 at the weapon table in NM3. That's six Scars in two levels... something's up with that.

It happens the most on No Mercy, but I've noticed the repetition of weapon spawns happening in original campaigns as well. For example, I've went to the three tier 2 weapon spawns in the park on TP2. and found the Hunting Rifle and Combat Shotgun at each of them on two separate occasions. Sometimes I can go an entire campaign without seeing a certain weapon, such as a Sniper Rifle, but see five Auto Shotguns and Uzis spread around the levels.

It seems to me like the Scar and Combat Shotguns are the most common weapons anyway... I wonder why the developers are so obsessed with them.

I have seen a few issues on The Parish where in the second saferoom, only shotguns will spawn. No uzi. It sucks.

I have noticed it on some of the original maps like dead center. It's kinda annoying when you get to a safe room like "finally I can get a new assault rifle...." and then when I get there, there are only shotguns, or only hunting/sniper rifles. I hate also when you get a nice gun like the combat shotgun or the AK, and then when it runs out, you're stuck with a lower-level gun. And that AK/combat shotgun never spawns again.

I can't remember the last time I ran out of ammo. Then again, I shoot in the 60%-70% range. Try increasing your accuracy and tame that trigger-happy finger so you don't go through so much ammo.

Especially if you have an auto shotgun... work on using a sidearm. As for switching back to tier 1 weapons, that's normal, and I assume valve put them in the middle of some campaigns because they would otherwise be unused, since tier 2s appear so early, but they can run out of ammo.

I went to the six different possible tier 2 spawns before the crescendo at The Park today, and found uzis at four of them, a Hunting Rifle at one, and a Pump Shotgun at one. That's just not normal, they need to fix that particular map so that bigger varieties of weapons spawn.

The magnum is a very nice sidearm to have. One shot kills and unlimited ammo. I use that 80% of the time because it's so effective and powerful. When the SI appear, it's sniper/assault time.

Realistically, it's the luck of the draw. After all, any group of survivors, could take and leave behind weapons.
