The batan is hot garbage. Maybe it's good against a tank, but against infected it is hot garbage.

I never would've guessed that a police baton would kill a tank the fastest. Still, I prefer the axe to most melee weapons just because it gives you more range.

It's true that they all do about the same amount of damage. However, they seem to have different speeds and quality of hits. Some have better hit detection than others. At least, that's what I've noticed with my own game. I could be wrong. For hit detection, I would have to say katana. I think it also has the cleanest kills. The bat is just really shaky and the guitar seems slow for some reason. It might be just me, but whatever.
