Hmm, my first VS match ever was split screening when It came out. 0_0. Actually I wasn't into video games at all until I played L4D. Once I got my own GT and xbl I was a full time player. I was really bad at the game and once I met everyone, I learned from them. I learned how to wall punce seriously like 8 months ago and I've been playing since 09. I didn't even know what a "25" was until then too. xD

First Time playing Vs on L4D2
Wow,... what fond memories.... I had played campaign offline (L4D1 and L4D2) for quite a while as I didn't have a high speed connection at the time. This was just a month or two after L4D2 had been released. The first night I played L4D2 Versus was OUTSTANDING! I was fortunate enough to play with some guys that didn't kick me because I was a noob. I remember the first time I went in as a hunter I had no clue you had to crouch inorder to pounce and I got BLASTED right in the face LOL! I was also stealing other peoples kills with the hunter and the charger i.e. A smoker would grab someone and then I'd pounce/charge the secured survivor instead of grabbing the survivor near by. I didn't get much sleep that night LMFAO!
I managed to make a few online L4D friends and started having a LOT of fun. Then I discovered the L4D Forums on steam and made a LOT of good friends and even organized weekly forum/friends only matches for a good while. That evolved into competetive type games on GB and then CG. If anyone thinks they know everything about this game, they are dead wrong. We still learn new things every time we play and that's what keeps sucking me back into L4D1 & 2 but mostly 2. We had a team practice last night and are working out some new attacks instead of using the same attacks that everyone else uses. I'm sure some will fail miserably however some may become game breakers.
Good Times!

My first game of Versus confused the hell outta me but luckily when I played I was with a friend and he was spoon feeding me through the first two levels of the campaign xD I was also lucky enough to not get a vote kick, I think if I did it would have completely shattered my confidence.
I go on it all the time now and have dragged my other friends into the L4D versus world =)
