    l4d1 1911s in l4d2

Has this been done? Ive spent ages digging through google, and with all the from-scratch custom models out there and the amount of people requesting this to be done on the steam forums, im surprised to not find a trace of anyone even attempting to port the old .45s into l4d2. Especially considering that the models (minus the textures) for the dual l4d1 pistols are already in the pak01_dir vpk for l4d2.

On a side note, does anyone know of a decent tutorial on how to get weapon models to work in l4d2? whenever i try to do anything with weapons beyond skinning and minor script edits i either get an invisible model that turns my screen on its side when i pick it up, or the vanilla model with broken arms. the only thing i can find is the one for custom survivors on fpsbanana, but i dont think that would work for weapons, and everything else is old as dirt and points me to programs that are no longer maintained/missing .dlls, has broken links, etc

    Hello.

I'm on the same boat with you! Does anyone have any info on this subject.
I managed to get a working gun model ingame. I just made a simple test usin ak47 and just modifying it a bit to test this out. The model and its textures work but tha hands get stuck in the same position where I picked up the model. They just float in the air moving just a little bit with the character. Allso some of the animations dot work. Melee hits go some where off the screen and the fingers dont work either.

One thing I noticed was that if I had picked up ak and the used a turret gun the hands woud be in the right place and move like they should, not including melee and fingers. But then if I picked up a nother gun the hand would go all funky again until using a turret again. Dunno what's the problem here.!!
