Yep, it sounds bizzare. But once you think about, having full gas cans being in relatively close proximity is also illogical.

Anyways, they're spread out so it wouldn't be easy. Good enough reason for me.

I think, imo, that it would have been more fun, and made more sense if they were inside shops (You could still see the outline, so you wouldn't have been wondering around). But still, I'm not gonna go, "OH MY GOD THIS SUX LOLOL!" and uninstall the game because of the gas cans being like that.

They wouldn't be like the "mall's main shops", which are normally huge. They would have been sorta like the minor shops. I think it'd be also cool to see dead survivor with a gas can next to it's hands, as if it was going to do the same thing as your team was. Or, if there were a few Fallen Survivors, that, if you killed, dropped a gas can, with the same reasoning as the dead survivor with the gas can.

That would hint to that most everybody around there knew about him...so, as I said above, the mall might have been overrun, and that was their last attempt at escape.

This leads me to a question. The gates. How are they halfway closed? Some malls have button that close them without any humans doing anything, except pressing the button. Still, most malls still have the ones where you have to close them yourself, without a button.

Is this to hint to the security trying to lock the area out after hearing about the outbreak, or some survivors trying to lock themselves in/out of the area, when zombies broke in?

imo, in dead center, the gas cans be scattered around the first and second floor made no sense. It's as if some guy thought "oh! Maybe four people will come by here sometime after world war z starts, and need some gas! I'll just fill these gas cans up and not put them not next to the car! Because it's so smart to not put the gas next to the car."

I've never seen so many exclamation marks, anyway back on topic I think it's a good concept for a finale as it adds variety, I personally prefer shooting the crap out of zombies though
