Expert Mode - any advice for me?
Hey Guys,
I usually play on Advanced Mode (anything below isn't challenging enough for me). I feel like I'm ready to go the whole hog and play on Expert Mode.
I played 2 Campaigns yesterday....and was destroyed. Easily. Bloody Zombies and their 20 h/p attacks.
Does anyone have any decent advice for me playing on Expert (other than the obvious kill Zombies/don't die)? I usually grab a melee weapon to start, and then any other weapons.
My aim is to get all of the Achievments, so I really need to get to grips with Expert Mode.
Any help at all?

I've played expert a few times (don't ask me how, I was a regular advance player like you). The only advice I can give you is get so help, maybe some people who regularly play it, and don't rush into new areas. Watch behind you at all times and clear a way in the next area.
Hope it helps. :3Baby Panda - *sneeze*

ok
Best playtime is 20:00 to 06:00 that is time the pro wake up , think be for you
decide to run pass team member to get a kill ,
soundspoting you can judge how far boomer is by his sound don't just run
round the Conner to get the kill m it can get you and you team dead.
ok the Bile. In normal expert server you get them only i the 1 part some map
in part 2 so saving them for key parts of the map is good .
1.Dead Center bile key points : The Streets Part 2 after you armed up the coke run
that time is part to find bile for part 3.The Mall bile point there is the alarm run.
2.The Passing good to have 2 bile 2.The Underground alarm gates
3.Dark Carnival key bile point is in 4.The Barns right after gates opens if you
find 2 bile you can use 1 for The Coaster run , in start last part you get 1 bile
good to save it for 3 tank or to send zombie to other side away from helicopter
4.Swamp Fever points are 3 if you are 1% team in part 2,The Swamp at the
crashed airliner and in part 3.The Shantytown lowering the plank and last part
after the 2 tank are dead
5.hard Rain bile points are in part 2.The Sugar Mill at the elevator and the after
it ,last part after tank nr 2 is dead
6.The Parish bile point 5.The Bridge 2 bile 2 pips run under 3 min start 3 run
left side 1 pipe 1 in mid with bile for long throw and rejoin the 3 on left side
bile after tank and the 2 pipes on hummer
now good team can do the alarm run in part 2 without bile
weapons magnum or melee ,1 tier Uzi . Tier 2, ak47 Hunting Rifle Sniper Rifle
Kit save it down 1%hp or B&W use pills as long as you can to save kit for hard
part but heal team member if he is B&W and has on kit it is call teamwork
Incendiary Ammo and Explosive Ammo are good for tank but not for close
quarter combat EA can do big td to you and your team
Zombie blockbugs : you can block zombie at some points standing on the edges
weer zombies are calming up like manhole in the car park in The Parish or Dark
Carnival on the scaffolding
Tank: you don't have slowdans with him stay away from him use teamwork to
make him almost stand on the same spot you shot at him , he comes for you
next one takes over he goes for him you get it BTW if you are down with
tank next to you and are shooting him don't shot him if you shot him he kills
you, if you don't he goes for the others and 1 can come back and help you up
but in the final analysis you kill Zombies ,keep you team alive and don't die

You just need to find a decent team of experienced players. It's possible to do expert campaigns with bots, but it's difficult.
If you're just looking for the achievements though, use the 'Last Man on Earth' mutation that's available at the moment. Move swiftly, listen out for the specials spawn, take them out as soon as possible and keep moving. This week I've managed to do Dead Center, Dark Carnival, Swamp Fever & The Parish. The Swamp Fever finale was the only one I had to try a few times before I finished it, those 2 damn tanks!

I don't think i'll ever finish Hard Rain on that Mutation, i mean i can get to the finale fine but finishing it is a pain in the arse.
One piece of advice i can give for Expert is to save your Health kits for when you absolutely need them, if you're in Black and White..use it, if not..use pills or adrenaline.

All good advice so far.
With the likes of the more difficult modes, I would actually advise against the use of melee weapons. If a smoker catches you from some distance away, you won't have time to shoot it and you also won't be able to attack commons until you are right next to them. Also, using pistols regularly will help you become a better shot, which is absolutely necessary for expert.
Expert is hard to do with bots because they have a tendency to stand in front of you, not clear you quick enough when you get ensnared by SI, and when it's tank time, they seem to completely spazz out and usually end up going down.
Expert can also be hard with people because of the friendly fire aspect. Again, it's hard not to sometimes run in front of people and when the shit hits the fan, bullets can be flying everywhere.
I'm ace of spades at advanced right now and I'm having fun never reaching the end on expert with bots. After all, a real zombie apocalypse is probably going to be just as hard...[s]L4D - PC & Xbox 360[/s]

expert
Its all about knowing your maps and knowing where and when to camp out to take out the hordes. Takes alot of practice to get that fancy foot work down but after awhile you can almost predict where the next zombie is going to attack you from. Again since the hordes hit so hard the most important thing is knowing the map, dont be caught out in the open during a horde rush.
And if you dont have an experienced team who works well together there is no chance. Do not pass up any ordinance like pipe bombs pills etc. And always try to have a moly handy for that witch in the way or a tank. Try to kite a tank on expert and one hit and your done... So, know your map, play it safe, and play as a unit using your enviorment to be as safe as possable.
