What a difference some friends make

Played a quick match of Versus last night with a few of the forum guys. At first I figured I would join mainly for the Party chat lawlz and to get to know them more as they kindly helped me out with an expert game (despite my disconnect spoiling it for me).

Pretty much as soon as we started playing though I found myself really enjoying a game mode I'd given little time to and never seemed to enjoy. I wasn't bein' told off for making a mistake or not keeping the pace they wanted me to.

We ended up owning and if I continue to have as much fun I think L4D has gone from a solo game I was going to trade after gaining the last 2 achieves I need to somethin' I'll play as often as Halo

It really is about who you play with.

Yeah, alot of the forumers here, from my experience atleast, are fun to play with. Some can be serious, but you don't regret it if you like winning versus games over shits and giggles. I like having friends that know how to play seriously, but can dig that stick out of their ass when they need to. Try playing with someone like Dead Stopped, you'll not regret it. People like him have fun almost all the time, and they still know how to play and do it really well.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. it was good playing with you, and the others.

Your post rang true last night because we had another game after you left, against a competitive bunch who actually turned to dirty tactics when we started pulling the score back up. I think they were raging because they started off being cocky, but despite having a pub on our team who had no clue, myself, DragonHeart and Ringo Azure fought back at every turn. I ended up quitting because one of the dirty buggers spawn glitched me as I was reviving someone. versus is really fun when you're playing against (and with) people with good sportsmanship, but there are a lot of people out there who will just spoil it.

Like one of your friends mottos said: Rather get beat than cheat. I think their cockiness started to get the better of them, and the point we started to pull back was when they couldn't take it and resorted to spawn glitching to pick the win up.

I would rather lose like a man than cheat to win like a pussy. I think i was on fire last night, and i'm taking their cheating as a compliment, just means we were getting too good for them.

They're all the same though, whoever you come across, glitching cheating motherfuckers.

We were all playing well last night. Evidently, otherwise they wouldn't have spawned that hunter on my head and stopped me reviving you. They were afraid that we would go on to make it to the saferoom and probably pull a win (or close to it) in the finale. Hit their poor egos big time. The only compliment that I have for them is they knew how to use their hunters. But, NONE of their secures worked, until we we either had one man dead or were boomed on. The thing is with people like that, I can guarantee, you throw them into an advanced or expert campaign and they wouldn't know what just hit them.

I think if we enter more lobbies with them, we'd be getting kicked because we're too good, lol.

I was just wishing that clanboy or someone else joined our team, but that pub we had with us was decent too.

if we had clanboy or even just a strong fourth from the forums here we would have shown them the door, no question about it. sorry but the pub wasn't decent, we (you, me, ringo) carried him in our "collective" arms every step of the way. he cost us the score, hands down. it's not the end of the world though, no-one's perfect

If I enter a lobby with any of them I'll leave myself though. Not playing with cheaters.

You got disconnected? That's really bad luck, We'll have to help you get it again, I had alot of fun. I also have Halo: Reach, We'll have to play sometime.
