Thread: CTD when loading next stage... LFD2

So I just started playing Left 4 Dead 2 again after about a year and frames per second are all good. My problem is the game will crash to desktop as its loading the next stage in a campaign. I'll get to a safehouse...it loads up and then BAM... CTD.

I've got all the latest drivers and attached my dxdiag.txt

Any idea of what the problem is here? I've even tried dumbing down my settings....

Would love to get back to killing zombies in peaceful bliss. All help is much appreciated.

Are you able to access your console in-between these loading sessions or right before it? I wonder if it is parsing something incorrectly.

Also, is this a specific map that is it crashing on or does this apply to all maps/campaigns?

Yep, 64 bit. Havent tried doing console in between the loading screens... i'll give it a go and get back here.

I've only tried the passing, the sacrifice and that stream map since those are the new ones i haven't tried since coming back over a year ago. Never had any problems a year ago. Still dumfounded...

Have you tried reinstalling?

Nope...but that's my next option if things dont get better!
