    game mechanics (boomer question)

    heya,

im quite new to the game ... my question is: are there ways to "boom"
farer? i mean aiming up or sth like that?

just asking, as the booming range seems very random to me.
    thanks for answers :>

Puking on survivors from rooftops always works.

Rocket boom is a way for boomers to reach survivors seemingly from nowhere, it doesn't make your puke go further but it's a great skill to master.

It involves being on a rooftop in spawn mode and running while in spawn, jump, spawn in air (you can move faster in spawn mode) and use that momentum to land next to the survivors.

It's about 30 seconds in when they start rocket booming. Hope this helps in some way.

    God, I love Boomers.
He looked so adorable with the McDonalds skin lmao, a big boy waiting for his Happy Meal.
Anyways, I see people rocket booming in Team Versus games all the times, it's nothing new to me.

But, sometimes I notice that the Boomer isn't even facing me after he rocket booms and I still get puked on.

So I'm wondering, what if I were to puke and while still puking, I press RB, would I hit the people behind me? Seriously, the guy isn't facing me and I call zombie bullshit on that one.

Thank you. I say that regularly, forgot Zoey says that lol.

Idk about you guys, but a coordinated attack without a Boomer just seems wrong to me. Not as effective, anyway.

Agreed yeah, boomers make all the difference in an attack.
Without boom, chance are the pinners wouldn't last 5 seconds...
With boom, it can take ages to shoot off a hunter that's right in front of you cause the commons keep knocking your aim off and then you get melee fatigue etc. Especially in L4D1, boomers are crucial to getting in some sweet damage.

Thats just lag.. Just like getting punched by a Tank thats 10 feet away. Wether or not its real lag or a lag switch, you never know..

You can get more distance with a higher arc'd boom. But if you get shot before the puke hits anyone it will not register..

The randomness of the Boomer comes with the lag... I can't even recall how many times i've barfed on all 4 players and didn't get 1 player. Im talking a sweeeping back and forth puke from a few inches away.

Tank, boomer, they both have weird mechanics. Sometimes with a tank you are close enough to pull their pud and you miss, sometimes you feel like you're fucking stretch arm strong.

The spitter is the most annoying to me though. I spit, they stand in it for a grip and I get minimal damage. They spit and I'm seriously not touching it, like I look down at my feet and the shit is over a foot away and it's raping me.

I could prob stay as a spitter for 1/2 of a map or more on a good team every time if I wanted to. But when I spit one someone who is laying down and they stand up and run out of it and get 4 damage... man that shit is retarded and never seems to do that for me when I'm on offense.

I was playing the other night with Bryant (2 vs 2... i don't even want to talk about it. I could write 5 paragraphs of specific instances of our bot play. I'll never be able to explain it.) and rochelle bot was like maybe 5 healthy, I spit where she was running to the safe room and that shit lit up a +10 on the "ding ding" counter, and I think it did 0 damage.

To this day this game finds ways to leave me dumbfounded.

She didn't even freaking take damage and she was a scratch from going down dude, omfg. The "ding ding" kept going off too, and it's not even because she walked right through it, because you still take damage walking through spit.

Or when you grab someone with the Smoker and the tongue randomly breaks, I hate that shit so much. It's like you can't smoke someone through a crack anymore without it breaking.
