The first BOTS appreciation thread!!

Oh boy really... Yes the bots will give you stuff and shoot a zombie from a mile away...

One thing is though that bots wont carry a gas can or use ONLY a melee weapon to make a tank burger... I just kill 2 bots and switch back to easy to get achievements with a friend and I am sick of hearing "GET ME OUTTA HERE" "HELLO GUYS YOU CANT LEAVE ME HERE" I want a option to turn there requesting of being let out of the room OFF... Sick of hearing it throughout the game....

If you want achievements, then yeah they won't help you get ' Tank Burger ', then get your fiends to help you then, thay also can't carry any Pipe Bombs etc, but they can be very helpful, plus you can't really expect the Ai to only carry ' Melee ' weapons do you to help you get a achievement do you, well I still think they do help.

That's all rubish.

The two golden things about bots are:

1) They can pick you up from incap. even if you're being hit by zombies
2) They can see through foliage and effectively act as aimbots

They also make wonderful meat shields.

Assist and I had several bots over the past few weeks who have deliberately run into fires for no reason whatsoever.

I appreciate this topic.

I've not played L4D for a while, but returned to it the other day. I played Single player campaign for the first time in a long time and really enjoyed it with AI help.

It's great to play with real people online, but there are many flaws to it. People running off, making silly decisions, friendly fire, to name but a few. Playing Single player means complete control over the situation and no silly mistakes being made by others. The OP makes some great points.

The AI do get too much hate.

Good things about the AI's:
1. Really good aim
2. Generous
3. Can pick you up with zombies hitting them
4. Pretty good meatshields

Bad things:
1. Sometimes they're so brainless and when you incapped they just stand there
2. They constantly get in the way when I'm shooting
3. On finales they BLOWWWW!!!!

When I'm trying the expert campaigns I definitely prefer playing with bots. Then I have no one to blame but myself if I fail. I actually think it's a lot easier to play with the bots.

1st off- Coach cr0wning a witch FTW.

About killing infected quick, I think it has to do with their precise headshot accuracy, not exactly sure.

I remember many times as a charger when AI were shooting me and it seemed as if they killed me in three shots with an uzi, kinda annoying.

The AI completely own infected once there attention is on it. A tank in versus doesn't stand a chance against focus fire.

I don't care what anyone says, AI Special infected are the best, hands down.
Sometimes AI hunters will cover pounce someone so perfectly. I was playing against, friends who were just rushing it and an AI hunter killed three of them and I managed to get the forth one.

My favorite AI are the ones I quad cap with. I have done this twice with,
smoker(me), charger, and 2 hunters.
smoker(me), another smoker, and 2 hunters.

The AI infected also seem tougher to kill, I know that they don't have more health, but I think it has something to do with the way the frames are registered

I can't play single player because the SI bots are so stupid. I can dodge them... eh... 80-90% of the time. The other time I just shoot them in the face. I won't even call it AI they suck so bad. Get a good team in rvs in there and see what real coordination and hits are all about.

I'm guessing you were referring to my "AI infected are the best, statement". I don't think they are the best, I was mainly referring to the fact that they can pull off some epic feats.
