It was annoying, but I did it myself, so I can't complain. You're only chance was a Spitter at the bottom, which forced them out of the corner for a few seconds.
Everyone camped there though, so it balanced itself out. I'm glad it's been patched out.

I don't mind corner camping anywhere else, because you can always counter it with any decent Spitters or Jockeys etc.

Camping does require a bit of skill in L4D2.... Except when you camp in a cheese bag section. The better the team the easier it is.. So when i see a really good team play like pussy its really pathetic.. In my books anyways.

We all know why people chose to camp in certain areas.. Because its the hardest spot to spawn and land anything with a SI. Thats the only reason.

It really is the bitch card.. Ya sure things can still happen during a tank fight or having to grab ammos/items..

But its the principality of it all. Might as well have a sign that says "Pussy Parking Here'' right at the corners.

But like i said, im not innocent of doing it.. But i feel like a real 'tool' when i do. But thats just me.

L4D1 and L42 is the most fun for me when.. 8 Good player or 2 good teams play a game without playing like bitches. But its rare i get that, every once in a while i do.. People confuse bitch tatics with being good since L4D1 came out..

To some only winning matters in a game NOT made to be serious or balanced.

But games like that are the ones that make me love these games. Games that are so fun that only a try hard pussy would rage or quit. When 2 teams have so much fun that even the losers are pumped after it.

Still tho, I hate it when people demand you camp.. Of even if 3 decide not too and one guy still has to camp the bitch section all alone like he can't think for himself. Freakin lemmings..I get it.. Its the easy camp spot. It can't be that hard to understand i wanna do it the NON EASY WAY!!!!! I wanna have fun AAARGG!!!

I've always taken a Mick Foley approach to L4D.. As in i don't care if i win or lose as long as i get smacked in the head 10 times with a chair and DDT though a few tables im allllll good.

I wish more people where like that..Watching teams go over the try hard/pussy check list in games does get really, really...old.

Dark Carnival was a map where you have to camp somewhere.

I"m a pussy because I camp at the best spot?

    Sorry not buying it.

It's playing the game it was meant to be played. You're not running back 3 miles to defend a crescendo, etc. You're picking a good spot and sticking to it.

"but it makes it harder for the infected."

    It's supposed to.

They kinda of have a point but if they properlly worked as team they could have taken your team out with a charger, or could have got your team with a hunter. Or a spitter would have made your team move to a diffrent spot.

I sort of agree with this. It's not a bitch move to try and defend yourself in a good spot, because it makes sense and a decent SI attack will decimate you anyway. It's not like you being completely unfair, the infected can still kill you with co-ordination.

In Dark Carnival it was a bitch move though, because it was practically impossible for a decent team to be scratched in that position. Oh and that whole map is unfriendly to Tanks.

But it was balanced out because every man and his dog used that spot, or the scaffolding occasionally. It's definitely good that it was patched up though, now it might be more fun.

Alls i have to say is... Theres a reason why Valve is changing it...Again.

They tried to fix it once, but it wasn't good enough. Now they are gonna release another update thats supposed to fix it.

If you don't wanna buy it its not a big deal. Fact is people have wanted that changed for a long, long time. Because its NOT the way the game is meant to be played.

Its not picking a good spot. Its picking the bitch spot and everyone knows it, including valve. There should be no bitch spots. Any spot can be a good spot if the team works together. Watching everyone always pick the same stupid spots on finales because its the 'easy' spot gets really, really old...and lame.

But thats just my opinion... And i know im not alone on that.

Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with it. It's just a strategy to stay alive. There are ways that you can get them out with all those special infected in L4D2. In L4D1, thats all ppl do to defend themselves from hordes and special infected.

You should have seen L4D1 VS when it first came out. Autoshotties did more damage to tanks, melee didn't have fatigue and Tanks could only hit 1 person at a time instead of anyone in fist range.

People could basically camp one spot the whole time and kill tanks in seconds. It took a while to fix that crap. Camping has come a long way since then. And so has all the bullshit and sneaky tricks that one can abuse in their favour to win.

But this isn't really about camping. You can camp anywhere, its just part of the game.. This is about camping in a spot that takes advantage of bad map designs and all the people that do it.

It also gets on my nerves when players that do it that look at me stupid when i wanna rock out on stage even if the game is close. If 'stupid' spots like that didn't exist they would have no choice.

Anyways, i hope the new shorter finale spawn distance and Tents they put up fix that problem with the finale. Theres gonna be alot of people that are gonna have to learn the hard way..lol.

I agree with Mask. There's a reason VALVe changed that spot on PC. I really really hope those changes come to the Xbox 360 version. I get tired of my teammates always going to that spot, and I'm like "guys can we hold up someplace else?", but they still go there, and the other team goes there, and it's an overall frustrating experience.

I don't even hold up anywhere in Dark Carnival's finale anymore, it's a lot easier to stay on the move, I was filtering the horde my way and kept mowing through them, I barely take any damage if I have someone running around with me.
I love joining a lobby with preset team of 4 Survivors or Infected with mics who start talking a lot of shit and I end up making them rage quit.
Excuses are like assholes, everybody's got one.
