    Tank fire damage mechanics?

I've heard all over the net of conflicting fire damage on a (campaign) Tank. Some people saying that when he's on fire he's literally invincible to bullets and he HAS to burn out.

Some people saying that setting him on fire turns on a seperate "death timer" completely unique from his health, and said timer doesn't affect his actual health, so guns take him down just as fast as they normally would.

Some people saying the guns slow him down while he's on fire, and some not.

Can you vets actually confirm what the truth is here? Note I'm on 360, if we're behind on important Tank patches.

I know he is definitely not immune to bullets when on fire.

I know that in Campaign when he is lit he moves faster and I do believe that shooting him slows him down(I know it does in Versus whether lit or not).

As for the separate "death timer", I have heard that and I think it used to happen, but not anymore. A couple times that he was lit and was being shot at it has killed him much faster than the times he was not lit or was doused shortly after.

I've never had the chance to test it though. Either we light it immediately or we don't have anything to ignite. If I was able to weaken him, then throw fire it would be easy to see. Although I really doubt the "death timer" still applies. Otherwise Incendiary Ammo does nothing.

I know the theories you posted on damage don't apply to Versus, but it is much easier to test or notice there.

Also depending on what gun you are hitting him with determines how slow he is. The M60 will slow him down more than the AR for instance. And if you can get him in the crosshairs of a mounted gun it will slow him down a LOT.

    There's no separate death timer.

One thing to note that I've heard many times but haven't had time to independently confirm, is that if you light the tank with a molly or gas can and then shoot him with incendiaries you negate the original flames. Meaning that when the incendiary ammo burn stops, the tank will stop burning as well. IE: Player 1 torches the tank with a molly. Player 2 shoots him with incendiary ammo. The incendiary ammo burns out and tank is no longer on fire at all. I can't confirm or deny this though.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.
