Texture/model problems
lately I got a bit bored with the games I own, but then a friend and me remembered the great times we had with left 4 dead and the left 4 dead 2 demo (which both worked without any problems on my computer) so we decided to buy left 4 dead 2. We started the game and had a lot of fun with the first chapter, but I noticed the red health packages looked really odd, when we got to the levels after that all the textures bugged and it became a huge mess. as you can see in this screenshot:

I was wondering if anybody recognizes the problem, as I've never had this in any game and/or on any pc. As I said the demo worked fine and that was 1-2 years ago with a different driver for my graphics card. I am using an ATI mobility HD radeon 4500 series, and the driver for that I just updated a few days ago. I am running the game on recommended settings, which are mostly high-very high. I googled a bit and found someone with a similair problem, who was told to use can you run it to check if his pc can run the game and to delete his video.txt file as well as to verify the integrity of his game cache.
I did all of this, my pc can run the game according to 'can you run it,' deleting the file did not work and the latter didn't work either. If anybody is able to help me I'd appreciate it. It isn't such a big problem though as I will buy a new pc in 5-10 weeks.

for both of you make sure
your drivers are up to date meaning the latest
AMD drivers for ATI cards
nvidia drivers for nvidia graphics card
download the latest directX (try this link): http://pcsupport.about.com/gi/o.htm?...%3Fq%3Ddirectx
and give your dxdiag info
Open the Start Menu > Run
Type dxdiag
A window giving information about your configuration will appear
You can browse the different tabs to get more information on some of your hardware
If you want a complete report, click "Save information", then save the text filemy friendly fire skills are awesome

Sounds like an uninstall/reinstall is out of the question at this point. Sounds like a general video failure. Replace your video card. Try borrowing one from someone if you can and verify that the new card works. If so, your card is toast.

Im getting a new computer anyway, so i hope it will work well on the new one.
But my video card is not the problem because, the same as mints, im already playing the game for a year and i never had these problems until some idiot video card driver update came up and ruined my left 4 dead and other games.
