add on installing problems.

when i try to install an add-on map or campaign it says it is not a valid source engine add-on. How can i fix this? Is there any other way to install Left 4 Dead 2 add-on campaigns or maps?

first of all make sure you have installed addon-support check this by going to the tools tab if it isn't installed install it and try it again

thanks for your help, but now i installed the addon support, Steam says it is not available at this time and it doesnt start up! damn. and do you know other ways to get my textures right? because everywhere are holes in the textures.

that happens you just install the addons by extracting them to c:/program files/ steam/steamapps/left 4 dead 2/left4dead2/addons and then you start up left 4 dead 2 not left 4 dead 2 authorizing tools and start a singleplayer game or join a multiplayer one
and about the issue with graphics try setting shaders to medium
