    Never ending crescendos

    Just recently I was playing on Dark Carnival 4. We moved to the crescendo area, started it up, and the gate never opened. After waiting a few minutes we realized it wasn't opening so we just moved back and waited until we died off.

    I don't think it was intentionally done: one, because the people were playing against weren't very serious about it and I don't think they would have known how to do it if it can be intentionally done.
    And two, I noted that I had killed all of them during the time of this happening, which means nobody was sitting aside to do anything.

    It just seemed like a fluke thing but I've never seen this one before. I know there is a way to purposely stop the gate on Dark Carnival 2 from opening and I've seen that a few times, but never this.

    Has anyone else seen this on Dark Carnival 4 and have you seen it on any other chapters?

    never had it happen on dark carnival 4 but it did happen on the parish 2 we fought of zombies for 10 minutes before we gave up

    So you hit the button to turn the alarm off and the door never opened? I've never seen it on The Parish 2 so I wouldn't know.

    I've had it happen on the passing and a couple other games on Dark Carnival 4, where the horde doesnt end. Normally, the horde ends when you enter the saferoom right? Level complete. But in Passing 2, I've had it where the horde SPAWNS in the saferoom after all 4 survivors are in, not ending the level. It happens alot to me, which is why I never play the level anymore. Same with the Dark Carnival level, on map 4. It either sometimes never opens the door and acts as survival versus, or it spawns in the safehouse to never end. It's just annoying.

    Well, the complete opposite happened to me. I once opened the gate, and no zombies spawned at all. Like, even when we were going to the safe room, nothing was anywhere, not even special infected.

    I've never seen that where horde spawns in the safe room, but I don't play The Passing at all and I've never heard of that on any other level. That sucks. :P

    I've had that too. No zombies at all through the whole thing, it's pretty strange. L4D never ceases to amaze me.

    Just happened to me on The Parish 2 yesterday. We started the crescendo, killed maybe three zombies and no more spawned. We turned off the alarm and made it to the safe room. The other team called a Restart Chapter vote, and I don't blame them, I just wish this game didn't have so many glitches.

    none of these have ever happened to me but some vids or pics would be awesome

    On a related note, it's happened to me in Dark Carni 2 before, but there was this pro ass dude on my team. He sounded like some chill, 30 year old guy and was calling out and killing everything. Anyways, obviously someone on the Infected team was standing on the button to open the gate in spawn mode, thus keeping the carousel gate closed.

    He moved us around the fence where the saferoom is right above us and told us to keep jumping against this lightpost right against the fence. Basically, by doing that the game thought we made it to the saferoom and gave us the max distance points for the level without the survivor multiplier bonus.

    Don't ask me how he knew that but it worked lol, then again this was like a year ago.
    I love joining a lobby with preset team of 4 Survivors or Infected with mics who start talking a lot of shit and I end up making them rage quit.
